Dropping Number Six
Last night the Gazelles lost their sixth game in a row, and dropping to 3-8 on the season with a 40-22 loss to the Harrisburg Tigers last night at the Summit Center.
It was also a couple of three’s that extended the winning score for Harrisburg. The Gazelles, who have scored fewer than 30 points in each of the last four, struggled on the offensive side, shooting just 18 percent from the field.
The defense played extremely well though. Harrisburg’s 8-0 run into halftime set the stage for the rest of the game, and the Gazelles were never able to get back into it.
Yankton continues to play at home when they are set to face winless Huron on Friday night.
The Yankton Gazelles started off slow and finished the night on a low note, scoring a season low 21 points and dropping their third straight game 42-21, against the Lady Knights.
Yankton was not able to score any points in the first quarter, and only added 4 in the second. They trailed at halftime 20-4.
Sophomore Madison Wuebben finished the night with 10 points, and senior Emily Oswald added five. Maddy Hochstein, Sadie Fedders and Morgan Strahl all had two points of their own.
The Gazelles drop to 3-5 on the season. Yankton hosts Brookings on Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Summit Center.
