The Yankton County Highway Superintendent is advising that no travel is advised on Yankton County gravel roads until further notice. Currently there are multiple vehicles stuck in the middle of several gravel roads throughout the county. This is making travel and snow removal roads nearly impossible at this point. Check the latest interactive road damage & road closure map. http://ims.districtiii.org/closedroads/

The Yankton Bucks baseball games in Rapid City this weekend have been cancelled

Clay County Road Conditions

Counties in southeast South Dakota are preparing for a significant winter weather event this week. Several inches of precipitation are expected in the form of rain and snow beginning on Wednesday and ending on Friday.

Clay County Highway Department and Township Boards have been battling flooding throughout the last several weeks, and many roadways are currently closed due to flooding or damages due to flooding.

Road conditions are expected to significantly impact the ability for the Clay County Highway Department and townships to clear snow this week.

Motorists are encouraged to keep updated on current weather conditions and road conditions by contacting your local highway department. Motorists are also encouraged to use state highways and the interstate system if possible and to use caution when traveling.
